Israel’s War Against Palestine: Documenting the Military Occupation of Palestinian and Arab Lands

IOA status update

3 August 2013

After nearly five years of operation, the IOA website is suspending regular content uploads. Having started immediately after Israel’s attack on Gaza in December 2008 – January 2009, the Israeli Occupation Archive project has expanded its coverage of the Israeli occupation, its daily practices, relevant analysis and commentary on it, and its history – going back to the pre-1948 years. As regular readers have noticed, the website has undergone several changes over the years, and it is now time for another change.

The current Archive contains nearly 3,000 news stories, coverage of ‘facts on the ground,’ analysis and commentary. These will remain accessible to readers and researchers.

Going forward, the IOA will continue to upload content by members of the IOA Advisory Board – Bashir Abu-Manneh, Anat Biletzki, Noam Chomsky, Irene Gendzier, Assaf Kfoury, Rashid Khalidi, Stephen R. Shalom, and Salim Tamari – and by Moshé Machover.

The IOA will also continue actively sharing new content on its social network pages: mostly Facebook and also Twitter. We hope you will follow our activities there.

The following websites offer regular,  frequently updated coverage of the Occupation that is well worth exploring:

  • +972
  • Alternative Information Center (AIC), especially Shir Hever’s work
  • Electronic Intifada (EI)
  • Haaretz – English (subscription required; see discounted offer)
  • Haaretz – Hebrew (subscription required)
  • Jadaliyya
  • Jonathan Cook
  • Journal of Palestine Studies
  • Middle East Research and Information Project (MERIP)
  • Mondoweiss
  • Richard Silverstein
  • Znet

Additional websites relevant to the Israeli occupation can be found on the right column of all IOA inside-pages.

I cannot thank the members of the IOA Advisory Board enough for their ongoing support of this project over the last five years, without which none of what you see on these pages would have been here.

And we all thank our readers for their encouragement and participation in this effort. We will surely continue to see you in both the virtual and the real world!

Thank you all,
The IOA Editor
